HealthEquity Becomes Jersey Patch Partner of the Utah Jazz

Beginning with the 2026-27 NBA season, HealthEquity will become the official jersey patch partner of the Utah Jazz and the Salt Lake City Stars, as well as an associate sponsor of Junior Jazz, the NBA’s largest and longest-running youth basketball league, and the Jazz Bantam Basketball program. Together, the organizations will expand youth athletic opportunities, introduce a new scholarship program, and launch a new literacy initiative. The partnership reflects a shared belief that the greatest outcomes are built through deliberate actions repeated over time, whether on the court, in the classroom, or in preparing for the future.

“HealthEquity has been an amazing partner to SEG and to the community and expanding that relationship by putting their name on the Utah Jazz jersey patch is a natural next step,” said Ryan Smith, chairman and CEO of Smith Entertainment Group. “HealthEquity is built in Utah, invested in Utah and is committed to making a difference here. When you bring together two organizations that care about wellness, innovation and investing in people and programs that strengthen our communities, you can do some really impactful things. We’re excited for what’s ahead and the impact we can make together across the state.”

Deliberate Actions, Lasting Impact

Meaningful progress rarely happens in a single moment. It is the result of disciplined actions over time. That is true in sports, where preparation and persistence define performance. It is true in the classroom, where consistency builds opportunity. And it is true in healthcare, where every day financial decisions shape long-term confidence and well-being.

“A jersey patch carries enormous visibility, but its real value is what we choose to do with that platform,” said Scott Cutler, president and CEO of HealthEquity. “Together with the Utah Jazz, we are turning that visibility into action by supporting the next generation of athletes, creating new opportunities in the classroom and helping young people build the confidence and habits that can shape their futures. That commitment reflects both the purpose of this partnership and HealthEquity’s mission to save and improve lives by empowering healthcare consumers.”

Investing in Utah’s Next Generation

The partnership will establish a new scholarship initiative designed to remove financial barriers and expand access to organized sports for young athletes across Utah. Youth sports participation is a long-term investment in health, fostering resilience, teamwork, and well-being that can last a lifetime. HealthEquity will appear on jerseys across all youth programs.

HealthEquity will also become the presenting partner of the new Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth Reading Program, designed to encourage students to read through elementary school competitions and educational programming. During the inaugural year, a select number of schools will compete for a visit from Jazz Bear and Tusky, Utah Jazz jerseys for every student, and a co-branded book vending machine for their school. The program is expected to expand statewide over the course of the partnership.
