Lifestyle Spending Accounts (LSAs), also called Employer-Sponsored Programs or Health Wellness Benefits by some employers, are a type of reimbursement account that can pay for specific expenses determined by your employer. These plans are unique to every company that provides one, though some common expenses can include:
Athletic equipment
Exercise equipment
Fitness classes and gym memberships
Personal trainer
Fitness trackers
Race entry fees
Camping supplies
Personal development classes
Home office equipment
Massage equipment
Eligible expenses for LSAs cannot be reimbursed by another plan nor paid pre-tax by another health plan coverage or program.
Because eligible expenses for LSAs are determined solely by the employer offering it, you must check your specific plan details to see what you can use the funds for. To find your specific plan’s eligibility details, follow these steps on the EZ Receipts web portal:
Log in to your account.
Click on your Lifestyle Spending Account.
Click on the “About This Program” link.
Click on “Eligible Expenses List”.
You will see a full list of eligible expenses set by your employer.
